Manchester United gave Zlatan Ibrahimovic the No.9 shirt without informing Anthony Martial that he was changing numbers, according to RMC Sport.

The France international joined Old Trafford from Monaco last summer in a deal that will eventually be worth £57.6 million after add-ons.

Martial wore No.9 for his debut season but has been forced to make way for Ibrahimovic, who has signed a one-year contract after leaving Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer.

Martial takes up the No.11 shirt from Adnan Januzaj, who moves to No.15.
